Which prayers should I perform after menstruation period?

Question:My menstruation period finished an hour after the Athan of Asr prayer. So I took a bath (ghusl) and prepared myself to perform the salat but my husband told me I should pray al Zohr and al Asr prayers altogether. I wondered why but I did what he told me. Is this true?
Mufti: Sheikh Osama Hafez
Answer:

Answer: what your husband told you is the majority choice. They said if the menstrual period or puerperium ceased at the time of Asr, a woman should pray Zohr and Asr together. The same if she cleaned at the time of Isha, she should pray Maghreb and Isha together. The reason is that al Zohr and al Asr prayers share the same time for the person who has an excuse; travel, sickness or menstruation.

Some scholars say she should perform Asr prayer only for at the time of Zohr she was not yet cleaned and therefore not ordered to perform al Zohr prayer.

We support the opinion of the majority to be sure she didn't miss an obligation.
