Tourist Kidnapping, an Unjustified Crime Translated by: Fatima Suleiman
- The Islamic group condemns the tourists' kidnapping that occurred in a remote region near Egypt's borders with Sudan.
- It is still early to identify the hostage-takers and their aim. However, this act is a crime that cannot be justified whether by political or religious motives.
- Islam prohibits harming innocents even if they are unbelievers. Allah says in Quran " and let not your hatred of a folk who (once) stopped your going to the inviolable place of worship seduce you to transgress; but help ye one another unto righteousness and transgression' but keep your duty to Allah .lo! Allah is sever in punishment ", "al-Maida 2". The verse also states that abusing innocents for religious, secular or political benefits is forbidden.
- Islam considers any act of banditry or scaring people for ransom is a war upon Allah and his messenger whose doers deserve the punishment of bandits according to Allah's saying" the only reward of those who make war upon Allah and his messenger and strive after corruption in the land will be that they will be killed or crucified, or have their hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, or will be expelled out of the land. Such will be their degradation in the world , and in the hereafter theirs will be an awful doom." " al –Maidah 33 "
- People who visit our country for tourism are in fact innocents. when they get the visa, their souls and money became safe. Thus, whoever attacks them after that is a vicious person.
- Nevertheless, the Islamic group calls out to the media and analysts not to randomly accuse a certain group or faction of the incident in order not to smite folk in ignorance. We are pleased to see the hostages released unharmed. This is a proof of the wise policy of the Egyptian government that helps in such situations in order not to lead to bloodshed.
