Our Understanding of the Political Plurality in Islam

Out of the belief in the inevitability of the existence of differences, we believe in the political plurality within the frame of the Islamic principles, and ideals. Disparity is the universal fact, Divine vision and eternal law deposited by Allah in this universe and life.

We realize that constructive and fruitful disagreement is the one that never trespasses the limits of the origin of Jurisprudence and the unity of the nation. That is why our belief in the political plurality in the Muslim community bonds strongly with the oneness of the origin; that is plurality within the frame of the oneness of the Islamic values and principles, the patriotic and religious constants.

In the Muslim community, we do not accept the plurality based on disbelief and atheism. Our acceptance of any plurality means our acknowledgement of its legitimacy within the frame of the origin of this plurality. We adhere to this so as to maintain our peculiarity and uniqueness or we would be mere followers, no bodies and complying subordinates.

The Islamic faith in the multiplicity of approaches stems from the unity of religion and faith among these approached. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Prophets are brothers for (several) reasons. They have one religion, but different mothers".

The Islamic ideology believes in the multiplicity of nationalities, races, colors, and languages within the frame of the unity of humanity and the origin of human communication. Similarly, we believe in the multiplicity in politics, parties and ideology within the borders of the unity of the Islamic array, values, and manners as well as the unity of the national constants.

We also believe in multiplicity within the origin of one nation and the one collective religion. We believe in the political plurality that entails offering opportunities and paving the way in front of all organizations, political and party entities, lobbies and active powers in the society to attain their goals and aspirations of contributing to decision making, taking over the reins of government, and the passing- over of power through the legitimate legal frames and mechanisms of effective political contribution.

It follows that we believe in the political effective contribution on the condition of heeding the public interests and peaceful competitiveness that never impedes the country's progress, welfare and development, but takes part in the country's development, reform, and the political, economic and social progress.

In its commitment to the main frame of Islam, the political parties and other civil society institutions represent one of the modern society patterns corresponding to the old system of weights and measures control. These are deemed popular entities that monitor the works of the executive, judicial and legislative authorities. It is also another dimension of the acceptance of the idea of political multiplicity.
